Having a moment

I shun generational divisions.  It goes without saying that we all grew up in diverse conditions, different technology, different world leaders, different personalities, families, friends, schools, neighbors.  That doesn’t make us as different as we believe.  We hide behind our differences, because we are afraid of being same.  We fear being able to connect to anyone so different from our beautiful little worlds, that maybe a connection with an outsider could bring this whole thing crashing down.  I hope.

I could try to make sense of being a middle class white kid, but that’s been explained.  The hipster scene really showed the world the worst of kids of my age, without showing any of the best.  And the worst identity crisis comes with the fact that I don’t even fit into that generation because I lack the effort to care.
